Hope Everyone has an enjoyable holiday season!
Are humans worthy creatures? Emotional Deprivation numbers say maybe not... In the ARMOR Program it has been recognized that an extremely high percentage of addiction disorders are associated with insufficient Affirmation during childhood, adolescence, young adulthood, or even currently. Healthy human lifestyles arise from feeling genuinely loved, respected, and appreciated. This psychological nutrient is imperative to human survival, and we, from the VSN perspective, believe it to be required from our very first day until our last, just like food, water, and shelter. History has displayed an ongoing human behavior of disenfranchising certain types of humans based on shin tone, language, lifestyle, worldview, and behavior. This latter one, behavior is extremely challenging. Do we cage bad behavior? What type qualifies for bad enough? We do have community safety issues to address, especially violence. Bear taught us that imposing our will on another human being may be considered an act of violence. Our focus is healing, free of judgement, as this is the only affective way to administer Affirmation! That said, understanding an addiction’s etiology is imperative to designing our protocol.
As we transition away from services previously administered in-person and inclusive of face-to-face group sessions, how to best administer Affirmation & Psychological Transference has been challenging. It is coming to fruition nicely though and feelings of confidence are tagging along. Our virtual addiction remission machine has been in the making for several years and is taking shape. Being humanly present, eye contact, and touch are essential contributors to Affirmation’s efficacy. Do you know anyone who will hug your sober mindedness and validate your quest for lifestyle-change, passions, and dreams? We do!
